Multi-functional modular containers are a solution that combines the advantages of various types of containers and allows for adaptation to the unique needs of the customer. They are chosen especially when they have unusual applications or have to meet a wide range of different needs at the same time.

How are modular containers built?

The key to the success of modular containers is inside them - it is the high-quality construction that makes them so trustworthy and so widely used. Their sizes are standardized - this is why they are easy to manufacture, easy to assemble and connect.

Containers that can be combined and which are the basis for modular construction are available in three sizes:

  • Mini - usable area 6m2
  • Standard - usable area of 12m2
  • Maxi - usable area 15.4m2

They all have the same height: 2,82 m.

The construction is based on a steel frame with uniform dimensions. The walls of the containers are removable panels of various types: solid, window or door panels. They can be freely arranged depending on the needs, e.g. the door can be placed on the longer or shorter side, and the number of window panels can be adjusted to the function container. An important element of modular container systems are pull handles that are used to connect them together.

The container must be stable and stackable, which requires the use of durable and durable solutions. In high-quality models, the frame is welded from cold-formed sections with a minimum thickness of 4 mm, and the columns are made of solid sections (also cold-formed). To reinforce the whole, they are bolted to the upper and lower frames. The body of the container is stiffened with OSB - its thickness should be about 20-22 mm. The insulating layer from the ground is mineral wool with a vapor barrier foil, and from the inside the floor is finished with a PVC lining.

The walls and the roof made of trapezoidal sheet, despite their high durability, are relatively light, which facilitates the transport of the entire structure and allows the containers to be stacked on top of each other. Depending on the application building, the walls can be insulated with mineral wool with a thickness of 50 to even 100 mm. In addition, a vapor barrier film is used to protect against moisture. It is worth noting the finish of the walls from the inside - in high quality containers, especially those intended, for example, for offices or commercial services, it is usually a white laminated board, characterized by an attractive appearance.

To insulate the ceiling, mineral wool protected with a vapor barrier film is used.

Another key element of the containers are modern PVC windows. Their number and arrangement depend on the purpose of the building being built. More windows means better interior lighting and visibility, but too many of them may violate the privacy of people inside, which may be particularly important in the case of habitable containers. The entrance is usually placed on the shorter wall - This solution often ensures better use of space inside the container. In the case of doors, steel models with standard dimensions of 90 × 200 cm are most often chosen.

As you can see, modular containers meet very high standards, and their quality does not differ much from classic, brick construction.
